We have decided to build an extension to our current run as the girls are complaining that it is not spacious enough! A bit of a cheek when you consider that they are ex-batts! Our current run is on slabs with hemcore on top but the extension will just be on grass. The bottom of our garden becomes a bit of a mud bath when it rains so I am trying to think what will be best to put on floor, I had thought of gravel but not sure how to clean this, or woodchip. Does anyone have any experience of using gravel or any ideas of what would be best to use.

Ha ha! That's what I told my OH too, not he is having to build me a walk in run! (JUst after he's finished the little one!)

Why don't you pave the extension too? You can ask on Freecycle for any paving slabs to do the job.

tee hee - I know what you mean about cheeky ex-batts. Mine are making a bid to take over the whole garden, plus shed and conservatory......
