Chooks Aloud

Seeds/soaking

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to remember what they said on Garderners World ages ago. The hard seeds i.e. peas, corn etc - is it best to soak them overnight in some water to soften before planting? I've got it into my head that you should (probably from Gardeners World) but can't be sure.

What do you do?

Exactly that! :D

Soak them in warm water and sometimes leave them on damn kitchen paper until they have started to sprout before i plant them out.

Careful about how warm though as they don't require heat to germinate and if kept to warm especially when first potted on they have a tendency to rot
