Guest
my mum used to make ginger beer, I remember she used old Alpine pop bottles and they'd be lined up in the airing cupboard Here's a recipe from the net, there's loads of recipes on the net actually, think I'll have a crack at making some, thanks for the idea! http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A827426

Couperwife
we made this in the past. warning!!!! first point - its not pop - its alcoholic second point, be careful cos the 2 litre lemonade bottle will expand - A LOT, we had to take the top shelf out of the cupboard to get it out, then it expanded the other way, and both times we could have taken a brick wall down with a good swing of the bottle mum and dad made some when I was little in glass bottles (dont do it - the bottles exploded) third point - you split the "ginder beer plant" and pass it on to someone else when its done. have fun with it anyway cathy x
Laura007
i know what you mean about the expanding, but thats why you put it in the fridge overnight. the cold in the fridge stops the yeast from working.
