My eco solution to rat problems

I've put the new girls and their Eglu in the main run tonight for the first time, they have been freeranging with the other girls every day and have been shut in the run with them a few times.

 

I just went out to check that they had found their way up the ramp into their Eglu and I watched them put themselves to bed in the cube!

 

I opened the egg port to see how everyone was bedded down and there they all were - in the furthest corner away were the three new girls. In the nesting box there was one Broody Bunny with 2 batty girls on top of her and at the other end of the nesting box the third batty girl was burrowing under June - with 5 in the nesting box I reckon I could fit another half a dozen hens in there!
