Can anyone tell me whether a cherry tree and falling cherries are saffe for chickens.

 

I have been told that chickens love cherry's however I have also read different. I am confuzzled!!

 

We have a tree in the garden and although it hasn't come into fruit yet, it will do end of July normally and I want to know whether it's a risk, if so I will remove it, but I didn't really want to remove it, if they likethe cherries..

Mine love cherries... I have a cherry tree that is partly over their fence and when it drops cherries the chickens are in heaven and it doesn't seem to do them any harm at all.

oh ok thanks, although we went on holiday last year for a week and when we got back it had been stripped by the birds, they love us as we only really put it in for the birds and how it blossoms.

 

Poor birds have competition this year then.

we have cherry trees too our hens go beserk for them.

 

The white ones get covered in cherry juice which looks a bit worrying at first
