Raving Mad what a rip off!!!!

Recommended Posts

My daughters laptop lead fell over the other night and as they are non repairable we took it back to Currys unfortunately it was out of warranty by one day  They offered to replace it for £100 I refused. Went to PC world and they had one for £60 I also refused, came home went on ebay and got the exact make and model for £14.99 + £4.00 postage :)

How can they justify mark ups that high???? Rip off merchants

And before anyone comes on about overheads and shops etc versus ebay the ebay shop I got it from has an electronics shop so he's got the same overheads, but must be happy with a decent profit margin!!

Its amazing, I used to work for Macdonalds when i was MUCH younger. The cheese burgers were being sold for 69p but only cost 10p to make. Most other things were 100's of times the cost of making them.

Dont go near the place now, I always used to go home stinking, it put me off for good.

:vom:

we hardly ever buy from the big electrical retailer's shops, we go on-line instead.

We bought a new flat screen lcd TV last year from Currys. In store it was over £500 but OH found thew same one on their website for £375. And they delivered it to the local store for us to collect from there as that was more convenient for us.

£100 for a lead sounds a bit steep though!!!
