frenchlayer
Dear All. Panic. I have looked through list of bad plants and see that curly dock is listed. I have found another site which lists all dock generally as bad because it gives them dermatitis, and 2 of mine have been eating loads of dock, not curly dock and now have scabby spots on their combs which I thought was because they were picking under the wire fence and catching themselves on it. But now I am worried. Camera not working at the mo, so can't post a picture, but can anyone reassure me that flat docks not curly ones are safe to eat....please fingers crossed
Gallina
I wouldn't panic. I can't find anything worrying about dock in a Google search. I found an interesting article called Feeding the Flock from the Homestead's Own Resources that says hens can be fed on yellow dock.
frenchlayer
Thanks for that. I don't have any comfrey that I know about. Will see if I can sort some. But do have loads of nettles and dandelion.
