So excited!

Recommended Posts

Got home today to find that the postman had been and delivered a lovely big brown box... inside was a s"Ooops, word censored!"book kit for making my own wedding album. :D:D:D

My partner and I get married next year and I've already decided that I want to make my own wedding photo album. I saw the kit advertised on QVC last week, if'd and r'd about and finally ordered it. The kit is called 'Once Upon a Time..' and is gorgeous! Really fairytale looking with loads of papers and embellishments in it for a really good price! :D Can't wait to get started making it, which will of course will be next year.

So that's another job done! :D:D:D 1999 to go! Still no frock as yet, but the reception and church are booked. Does anyone know where I can get a celtic style bodice from? Have found a dress I like but it's gone out of production, poo! Was wondering if I get a bodice then attach a skirt to it?!

Sorry for the long post but am just soooooooooo excited... :D:D:D

Hubbie-to-be and I have been together 5 years this year. I remember coming home from school one night, (we'd been engaged 18 months by then and still no wedding date), saying that a younger woman than myself had got engaged and set a date for the wedding. So he was given an ultimatum! Set a date or else! (Actually he didn't take that much persuading...):roll:

I didn't realise there was going to be this much work sorting the thing out tho!:shock::shock: I'm sure planning a military operation is easier... :D:D:D

We got married in 2006 and I couldn't believe how much organisation went into it but I enjoyed every minute of doing it! I didn't think I would as I'm not a girly girl :D

DH and I had been together for 17 years and when we went to the town hall to registar our intentions, I found it hilarious when I saw my name up on the wall with 'spinster' written next to it the next time we went back, made me feel like Miss Haversham!

It was a bit scary when they took us into seperate rooms to 'interview' us, felt very like the film 'green card'! I wouldn't mind but we were both born here!:lol:

Thanks for the tip Snowy will have a proper look tomorrow at the site. I'm enjoying all the crafty, making bits as thats my hobby, its just the dress that's doing my head in at the mo, trying to find someone to make it who won't charge me a fortune!

Thanks Ain't "Ooops, word censored!"ody Here. I like to make things so have decided - like a fool, that I'm going to make as much as I can myself. Mum has mentioned today that it is usual for the bride/groom to give smaller wedding albums to both sets of parents as momentos - oh great, more pressure! At least I can do those later.

Have been to Hobbycraft today looking at boxes for favours etc. Saw some really nice bags to put the rose petals in which we're having instead of confetti. Cream, green and gold, those are our colours, nice fresh spring-looking reflecting the time of year that we're getting married in which is Spring, April.

Mini albums for the parents  . That's a new one since I got married (almost 20 years ago!) Lovely idea but as you say, more work for you :? .

Your colour scheme sounds lovely!

That's what I was thinking ANH! :? In my day they bought their own and I got them a bunch of flowers!

Mmm, I love the colour scheme too! :D

Hopefully my dress will be of a celtic style. Green fitted bodice, long sleeves that drop at the elbow, and a full floaty cream skirt, hopefully that will 'ripple' when I walk. No heels as I'm BOUND to fall over! I want a really natural looking bouquet, spring flowers, maybe yellow? to compliment the gold?

Have also got to grow my hair (natural blonde) to be long enough to brush my shoulders, not sure what to do with hair as yet. No veil, if he doesn't know what he's getting now its far to late! :D:D

Would also like a cape with a hood to keep me warm if its cold. I'm not into this suffering just to look good malarkey. Will put me thermals underneath t'frock if I have to! :D

It's exciting doing all this, I am enjoying it but you really don't appreciate the details until you actually start to do it. Will get there though.

Have got one secret for my guests...you won't tell if I let you in on it will you?:roll::D
