LisaP
OH and I are off to France for the weekend, along with 3 other couples. We're going by bike (motorbike that is, don't fancy pedalling that far ) We have some very good friends who live near Auxerre in the Burgundy Region and we love going over to see them We've done it several times before by bike and a few times in the car when we took the children, my only anxiety this time is that we will be leaving the children home alone In the past my dear MIL, who passed away at Easter, came over to stay with them Anyway a couple of good friends have encouraged me to go as OH and I really need a break after the last few months and we won't be having a holiday this year again. We have 4 children - son nearly 18, daughter 15 in 2 weeks, boys aged 10 and 9 and although I wouldn't say it out loud, the 2 older ones are responsible They are very good with DS aged 10 because he has ASD and they are used to his 'particular ways' and his special diet I have also arranged for my sister who lives just down the road to be on emergency standby and she'll be popping round too It's also half term so there won't be any school to worry about. I have to go now as OH has bought me new bike gear and his new passport has just arrived Lisa P
chili pepper
Sounds great I'm sure the kids will be OK, I have 4 children too and have only been brave enough to leave them for the day so far, mine are 19, 15, 14 and 8. Ive left the 19 year old for a weekend before and she had a few mates round, she cleared up well so I didnt mind and the neighbours said they only knew she was at home because the dogs were about in the garden. Have a great time, I'm so jealous, Hubby and I love bikes. Enjoy it, sounds like you deserve a break, I'm sure MIL would of agreed too.
