Dear All.

 

Does anyone live in Devon and know where I can purchase DE. I am coming back in July for a quick break and bringing the car, and as we can't get it here, and OH won't be in the car I was going to fill his place in the car with sacks of it.

 

I know we have BOCM pauls, Mole Valley Farmers that I can think of, would these generally stock it?

Is DE Diatomaceous Earth? I think it needs spelling out, as I am not sure people will know what DE is.

 

But perhaps it isn't: you wouldn't want sacks of it as it goes such a long way.

If it is Diatom you're after, I agree with Gallina - you won't need loads of it. I have a 500g container which is still more than half full after 9 months. I only use it once a week to sprinkle round the eglu after cleaning. You can put it in their food too but again, not great amounts.

Yes, its such a long word to spell!. But thats the stuff I need. Ah good to know I won't need kilos of it, now I will have room for clotted cream

Seems wierd they 15kg for 29.99 and 20kg for £60.00, which seems very out of proportion.

We used to live in Exeter and Crediton. Loved going to the Chicken farm in crediton and having a cake and coffee. Hmm, I might check with them and see if they sell it.

Hmm, I know what you mean. I have to go and buy more food this week and by OH says I am forbidden to return with even one extra hen

 

But we have agreed that if we lose one, I can replace it with two.

 

I have emailed them in Crediton and await their reply if not I will buy online from 'Ain't "Ooops, word censored!"ody there's' recommendation.
