i fink my fruit and veg book is a bit technical for me

 

it's talking about haulms!???? I need a dictionary to decipher it

 

can somone tell me in laymans terms how i know when my spuds are ready?

I googled the word and got an answer of "The stems of peas, beans, potatoes, or grasses." The things you learn on Omlet.

 

So, er, anyway, spuds are ready once they have flowered and the foliage has withered despite watering. Yum, they are my favourite veg to grow (and eat )
