Laura & CTB
i got them out as i didnt know if chickens would eat them. there's one way to find out! (and I think they'll love them )
jomaxsmith
I thought I read somewhere that snails are hosts to worms so shouldn't be given to hens on purpose. Eating some when foraging can't be avoided but I would take in the food at night if you're having lots of snails on it Jo
surferdog
Mine would originally only eat snails when the shell was crushed. They are terrified of live snails and now won't touch them at all
daj198
We get slugs around the egg port when it's wet... the other day there were five!
Gallina
My hens won't eat snails, but I am pleased about that, as I don't want to have to worm them. One of the benefits of bringing the food in at night is that you don't find slimy creatures inside: they only climb in during the dark. ajm200
Ours love to eat both slugs and snails. Initally, I avoided giving them snails that I found in the garden but have since found out that both my hubbie and son go snail hunting for the girls and crack the shells of any that are too large.
