Our new addittions to the family

Recommended Posts

Our chickens (ex-batts) arrived yesterday. Poor things are a bit bald, but quite chirpy. They got into the run and eglu happily and after about 30mins of settling in....a darn jet came whoooshing over head - scared the lift out of them! That hasn't happened for years!

Had to go out last night so left hubby watching and on door shutting duty.

This morning they have been out in the run and happy, and guess what....one has laid an egg already - in the nesting box!

Am rather worried about the state of one of the chickens bottom area, completely bald and looking red and sore. I think we'll go off and get some purple spray this am, would you put that on to help with the healing generally or would you wait and only do it if there is trouble?

Children have invaded! Will post pictures later
