Hubby said there was something small and black in the poop. I havent looked, I dont deal with the messier side of things very well

 

She is sitting like a chook should now!

Chook standing better, eating, drinking + pooping, all by herself.

 

She's even preening herself now.

 

She's in conservatory where she can see Cilla and Amber in the garden.

 

She's getting stronger + will soon be in garden with her friends again!

 

Not out of woods yet, but looking better

Im assuming she's like humans and needs sleep in order to recover.

I'd say she feels not right still.

mine is a very poorly girl, yet they can perk up for short periods. Apparently they can hisde an illness for 8o % of the time & still be prettyt ill. only time will tell

Well, listen to this for an improvement.....

 

We have now put her in the garden with the other two chickens as she had started walking about in our conservatory where we had her, and was pooping everywhere! She still looks a bit wobbly on her feet, but I am hoping she is over the worse!

Glad you feel she's getting better. Sorry not been able to ask all day I've been at work but thought of her.

Really think you should take her to the vet if you can because if she has something infectious it can be treated now but if left it could affect other organs. Its really hard if you don't know what the problem is though. Feel for you.

Amazing recovery. Snowflake spent a comfortable night in our conservatory, and when she woke up, she just wanted to be in the garden with Cilla and Amber. We are keeping an eye on her of course for any relapses. Amazing!!!

 

All this and no vets involved!! Im not saying dont take your chook to the vets, but try and do what you can for them first! We werent impressed with the way our Vet dealt with our last Chicken Daisy.

A friend of mine had a chook that would not put weight on it's feet. She gradually deteriorated and it turned out she had Marek's disease. She should have been vaccinated as a chick but somehow she slipped through the net.

Hello I looked up Marek's Disease since Snowflake couldnt stand on her feet. But since she has made an amazing recovery and is back to normal, it couldnt have been that!!

We had a light sussex and 2 years ago she had blood comming from her bum.I took her to a farming vet l was with a friend who also owned chickens.Now being a farming vet you would think they know alot.But he felt her and said it feels like a cancer lump and the kinder thing would be put her to sleep.This was a very hard desicion as she belonged to my daughter who at the time was 5.But ruby was very weak and not eating.So l did what the vet suggested.Then l had to explain to my daughter as when she came out of school it was the first thing she wanted to know it was horrible telling her.I never told her she was put to sleep l told her she had died there Well last year another one of our hens showed the same signs and l took her to a different vet.She had an xray a clean out and antibotics plus fluids put back into her.Now it cost us £160 but she is still alive today.Late last year she seemed poorly again so l rung the farming vet for antibotics and they gave them to me just like that.But it did the trick she percked up again.Not all vets really care that there chickens and some will do what ever to get your money but im glad shes still here We love her very much.

Maintenant, je dois désinfecter l'Eglu, etc. et garder un œil sur les deux autres poulets.

 

Ces oiseaux ne sont-ils pas une source d'enquête !
