Re hatching......there is a Sticky on hatching at the top of the Chickens Section - well worth a read.

 

Most hatches result in more cockerels than hens so the answer to your question is 'No' Please think long and hard about hatching - make sure you make provision for any resulting cockerels. Cockerels are really hard to re-home.........there are so many of them unwanted.

Sounds a bit harsh but i was going to eat them, i assume this is possible before they start to be a noise nuisance?

id love nothing better then to keep all but as many of us are probably in same position I dont have the luxury of being out in the country

We eat any spare drakes as well - drakes don't make very much noise anyway (far less noise than the ducks!) so you can wait until you are certain before taking them off to the pot.
