Hi

 

We have just started to have both sets of chickens out together. The Ex-Batts seem to be bullying my other chickens. Just wondering if this is normal.

 

At present the ex-batts are holding onto the other chickens feathers and sometimes standing on top of them. The other chickens are staying away from ex- batts

 

At present we are just letting them get on with it.

 

Is this normal

Yes it is normal so dont worry too much. I know its hard but it is only natural as the new pecking order is established.

 

Keep a close eye on things and try and make sure it doesnt get too out of hand. If blood is drawn then you may have to fit anti-peck rings or bumper bits to prevent more damage.

On a sunny day like this, a blast with a hose pipe to stop them won't do them any harm.
