As many of you know I'm still considering getting an Eglu...

 

...But when looking at the pictures of the Eglu, it looks to me like every time you want to add food and water, you need to get on the ground on your hands and knees and crawl in through the little chicken door on the run and hook the containers on the side of the run.

 

Is that correct?

 

If so, that looks like sheer madness! I can't think why anyone would want to crawl on wet ground everyday to replace the food and water, so I must be wrong! Please tell me I'm wrong!

You don't have to crawl into the run, but you certainly have to get down on your knees or squat.

 

You can reach around and hang the food up. But the door is too low and too small. We are all saying this all the time.

Gallina is right, you just crouch down and unclip the food bowl to refill. I refill the water using a watering can without ever taking it down, or a hosepipe if I'm out watering things!

You don't have to crawl in, just hang them by the door.

 

It involves a moments stooping, that is all.

 

I used to refill the Glugs from the outside with a watering can.
