Richard and Jo
Does anyone know if it is true that you cant freeze eggs- and if so - why not? Can you freeze boiled eggs or even scrambled - better answers please than Jo who says it "just sounds yuck" My friend has several chickens and more eggs than he can sell or eat. I suggested pickling but he is not keen.
Jacky
I haven't actually tried it myself, but someone i was speaking to yesterday told me that you can freeze eggs. You beat them and put them in to a container and later when you defrost them you can use them in cakes/cooking, scramble, or omlettes. I haven't actuallt tried it yet though As we just give an extra eggs away
Mrs Frugal
You can freeze whites just as they are in bags or little containers and they work just as well defrosted as they do fresh but with yolks, you need to add salt or sugar. There's information here
Richard and Jo
He is going to try to scramble some eggs tonight and freeze them - no reason why it shouldn't freeze as its the main content of quiches which freeze ok.
