4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi guys!

 

Have order lovely green eglu complete with run extention and 2 lovely chooks, 2 gingers and a pepper! Forgot to order the winter shade but will ring at a later date and add it on...

 

Now I know that they come with the basics, but whatelse do you suggest? Am looking into a dust bath and 'ingredients' for it. But what about other stuff? Grit, lime, spice, stiuff for their egg shells! It's all so confusing and dont want them to be poorly or feel unloved!!!

 

Any advice from seasoned chickeneers??

I would say my "must haves" would be

Mixed Poultry Grit

Barrier Redmite Powder

Poultry Spice

Aubiose

Metal bin for storage of pellets

I would say you can go lighter on the shopping than that

 

You need pellets & grit

Poultry spice is also good

 

You could add the redmite powder in a month

 

Aubiose is only needed if thats what you want to keep them on, I have some but rarely use it.

 

Everything else builds up over time....

The only thing we got pre-arrival was a metal dustbin for the feed, and that was from freecycle. Other things built up over time. You might like to source where you are going to get feed from in the future. Trust me, you'll soon be buying allsorts for your chooks

Oh and I dont' even have a metal bin for the feed. No problems yet although it was in the house for most of the winter!
