Lesley
I was looking yesterday for a sun tent - for Jazz ( - she doesn't cope well with sun) I had a good trawl around and found what I wanted and then realised that the shop I'd chosen had an offer on so I had the Nivea family size pop-up and the small pop-up as a special offer. Carl and I don't like the heat either so that will suit us I ordered it yesterday and it was delivered at 8.30 this morning - quicker than I could have gone into town to look for one It has a UVF50 rating - does anyone else have a Nivea sun-tent and have they found the rating to be a good indicator? Ange1
Thanks Lesley! That was quick! Oh I see, like a modern windbreak with a roof, I like it! We used to use a brolley and then watch it roll down the beach with the wind!
surferdog
Mine's not a Nivea one and it's only factor 30 but it's brilliant. I have very fair irish skin which always burns but this means I can spend the day on the beach without worrying. Might have to look for a 50 SPF now! (I really must stop buying things..... )

Guest
Is that one of those 'pop-up' tents that have the bendy metal that you have to grab with both hands and simply twist in opposite directions to pop it away quickly and easily? Caitlin has a pink pop up tent (not a sun tent right enough, but the same idea) and causes much amusement up and down the street at bedtime, as I huff and puff, twist and turn and get into a total fankle trying to get the 'ing thing back in it's bag. I want a sun tent for Squidger, so have you popped it up, then popped it away again yet Lesley?
Lesley
I have done the small one Shona - I'll go and have a go with the big one........... They've never bothered me, I seem to have the knack of doing them.......it does say 10 seconds to pop-up or pack away on the box.........I may be gone some time......... Lesley
*waits patiently* sorry - stopped to put some washing in the machine, take painkillers, find some breakfast........ Right! - it took 1 second to pop-up - and could decapitate a small child in the process I managed to gold it down into one flat panel.......then it said to hold it at arms length Everytime I tried that, it tried to open up so on the third attempt, I stood over it with it flat on the floor, grabbed the two base corners and wrangled it whilst leaning over it and downwards I mangled it into a circular shape and stuffed it back in the bag It was a bit scary for a moment........ I'm really pleased with it. The small tent has a pop-up baseball cap......but Jazz wasn't too impressed with that The small tent has loops and tent pegs, the large tent has the same plus sand pockets at either side. The back of the big tent has a zip so that it can be completely open. .....and Shona has left the forum now
Guest
.....and Shona has left the forum now Not at all, Lesley. Was just waiting quietly in the corner. I managed to gold it down into one flat panel.......then it said to hold it at arms length Everytime I tried that, it tried to open up so on the third attempt, I stood over it with it flat on the floor, grabbed the two base corners and wrangled it whilst leaning over it and downwards I mangled it into a circular shape and stuffed it back in the bag That all sounds terribly familiar....... We're off on holiday next week, so I may order one today. Thanks Lesley!

Olly
I don't have a sun tent, but I bought a pop-up tent last year for a holiday abroad where my proper tent would have been too bulky to take. Got it out in the garden, undid the bag, and up it popped. Then a friend and I tried to pop it down again ... instructions in hand, we tried, and again, and again .... after about half an hour, we gave it up as a bad job and sat down with a G&T. Amazingly, next time we attempted it, we managed to do it in one go! I can only do it when I've had a drink (hic!)
