I understand feelings run high when it comes to caring for hens and we all respect each others opinions on this forum, thats what makes it such a good place

 

 

 

Animals are eaten and raised for meat, it's wonderful when the process is carried out close to home and the animals are well cared for. Town or Country we have forum members who care very much for their hens on this forum, often different viewpoints all come together in harmony.

 

Just to clarify if anyone wants to adopt BHWT hens we have strict procedures in place, I've posted in chickens today, and all our hens have to 'retire, not be sold on for meat, to be egg machines or to be discarded after their laying life is over or they slow down.

Mind you the fact they keep sheep for meat tells you a thing, I can't see them getting attached to the hens in the same way we all do.

 

 

 

I really don't see where you're coming from there unless you're a militant vegetarian!!, we raised our own lambs for meat, they had great lives and were lovely creatures, just because we then ate them does not make us as heartless as these idiots the OP is talking about.

 

those people who would feed the chickens to the foxes deserve a jolly good kick in my opinion.
