Hi everyone

 

Following a cuddle tonight with Margot I noticed she had a sharp breast bone - i think it is the keel bone??

 

Is this ok or is it a sign of worms. She is only young, about 30 weeks old (ish). Her comb is farely red, no sign of runny vent or dodgy poo. She also lays nearly every day. Am i worrying over nothing? I have given them verm-x tonight in their feed for the morning as a precaution.

It will be her keel bone.

 

As long as she is eating well, her comb and wattles are red and she is laying, there won't be much to worry about.

 

She is still young, and will put on a bit more weight as she gets older.

My hybrids haven't got much meat on them at all under all the feathers either. When you consider they eat about 120g of food a day, produce a 50-80g egg from that, it's beyond me how they could ever put on weight.
