I am thinking of getting an Araucana and two more hybrids to add to my 3 existing hybrids. Am I asking for trouble introducing a smaller Araucana to the flock?

 

I'd get the Araucana together with the 2 hybrids from the same breeder but I have read a few posts that they are bottom of the order because of their size.

 

Also - very daft question The breeder said that the hybrids are POL and I can take the Araucana but she's off heat so won't lay for a few weeks - what does she mean by off heat?! Every day is a school day!

"Off heat" means they have recently come out of the brooder, so she could be as young as young as 8 weeks and might be as old as 18 weeks.

 

She might be too young to pitch in with the others.
