4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Sorry for posting here, I wasn't able to post under the chicken health forum for some reason and I am getting a bit worried and need some advice.

 

I have 2 blackrocks and 1 blue bell, all around 8-9 weeks. They are still on chick crumb and we were about to start introducing growers pellets. However, we have today noticed that 2 of the three have large swelllings on their fronts (either gizzard/crop area). The swelling is soft but relatively large, a good hand full in size. There is a supply of grit but they don't look like they have been taking any.

 

Any suggestions? Is this serious? Is there something I can do or should I speak to my vet?

I'm guessing that you are feeling their crops, which fill up over the course of the day.

 

Have a look in the morning, and if they have gone down, then that is what it is, and is absolutely nothing to worry about.

I reackon Egluntine is spot on there! Ours are the same at the end of the day, bulging crops that are slightly to one side, come the morning, they're gone.
