chocchick
I've now had 3 free swims by trying out gyms. They all seem to have a scheme where you can go for a day and try it out e.g. swim, spa, classes and gym. Swimming is usually OK even if they have a gym induction or you have a pre existing health condition. I've noticed they charge £10 a day to go and do this, unless you are trying out the gym. I was surprised that the £55pm one was full of screaming kids as lane swimming/spa was the same pool/area. The Hilton hotel one (Livingwell) was only £38pm (corporate) and very peaceful and quiet. Now I need to actually join one Between Hilton/cheap local one I think

chocchick
Maybe I need sunglasses and other disguises I like the idea of being able to do gym, swimming and classes for variation. I loved the Virgin gym I mystery shopped but it is £46(?) and I have to drive out quite a way to get there. I'm really fussy now I've been there Is Heeley a long pool? I discovered Hillsborough leisure centre feels quite short, busy, had limited lane swimming times and a floating plaster. It is cheap and very close though and I could use Ponds Forge as well in the scheme if I stumped up the tram fare/parking costs. That is 50m and open all day to some degree. The Hilton one is tempting as even though it is small only had 0-3 people at any one time, and they put out breakfast in the mornings and give you free towels. The problem there is it is a 6 month or 1 year contract and my job is very unstable at the moment and I don't know where I will be working next. Prudence will win on this one I think and say go to my local leisure centre and hope the no join fee is there at the Hilton when I have a nice well paid graduate job.
