Cinnamon
Bramble,my French Maran has always laid beautiful, large deep speckled eggs up until about 10 days ago. Then, all of a sudden, they got thin of shell & fragile, often being broken in the nest box. I added Limestone flour to their feed, & a splash of Shellstim to their water. But,over the last 2 days, she has produced these They are of a normal size, but are the most lumpy ,distorted eggs I have ever seen..............& I have seen some odd eggs in my time! The photo really does not do them justice at all. They still have a thin shell too. Any ideas on why this is?
Egluntyne
Is she getting on a bit? That can affect the shell formtion. My Peckadilly lays eggs that look a bit like that.....not quite so extreme though.....and she is nearly 4.
