mr mallard
all set for eglu arrival tomorrow but...........we already have a 4 week old aylesbury hand reared from egg and probably thinks it is human and today were given an 8 week old silver appleyard (a bit older than we hoped) which does not seem to think much of humans and definitely knows it is a duck - is it likely to bully the younger one? we had hoped to introduce them both to their new purple home together? Lesley
hmmmmm - try them together and keep a watchful eye on them. Try introducing them at bedtime. If there is too much bullying then be prepared to separate them but keep them side by side so that they become used to each other.. The same advice as introducing hens really - there is a Sticky about this in the Chickens section.
mr mallard
i am right in thinking that for ducks the roosting bars should be removed, aren't i ? does anybody else find that their ducks find the smooth floor of the dropping tray a bit slippery? caz & Graham
Hiya - our two are fine in there as Lesley says with a good layer of straw (ours is 2 - 3 inches thick at the most). Hope that helps
