How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Hi just wondering if me not using layers mash anymore is the cause of pebbles having 2 softies in a row? I had been giving them pellets and mash for some time now but the mash was really stinking! They use to just flick it on the floor and after a couple of days it would smell really bad, so we decided to just give them pellets. They have just been on pellets now for about a week and during that time Sam has only laid 2 eggs and pebbles has laid 2 softies one after the other.

 

Also im not really sure whats up with pebbles, for the past 2 days she has been sleeping alot! She didnt come out of the eglu for atleast half an hour thismorning and she is just standing in the run. Is this down to the softies do you think or does it sound like worms? Im really not sure what to do, i gave her some porridge thismorning and she ate abit but there is still lots left.

 

Sorry i babble on but im really worried about her!

Sounds as if the softies are making her poorly.

 

You could try worming her anyway if it hasn't been done for a while, to eliminate that as a problem.

 

Why not add some limestone flour to the pellets to increase her calcium intake? You can get it from equestrian shops or off Ebay, as sold for reptiles.

Hi thanks for that, ive just ordered some limestone flour. Should get that in the next few days! Do you think i should go and buy a small bag of layers mash to give her for the time being?

I wouldn't bother. Mash and pellets have pretty much the same nutrients in them. Save your pennies. Unless you'd feel happier.
