lucywatkins
Hi Does anyone know where I can get hold of partridge wyandottes? I have been searching and searching, but to no avail. I live near Bristol (South Gloucestershire). Thanks Lucy
Gamebird
When I was thinking about getting wyandotte bantams I found *this* website. However, it is in West Sussex so might be a bit too far.
lucywatkins
Hiya Thanks for the reply. I have tried the website, but currently has no birds, however, I have sent an email and asked whether she can recommend anyone else. For some reason they seem to be almost impossible to get. JamesH
Fosters chickens have some year old ones not far from you, £15 each. http://www.fosterschickens.co.uk/
lucywatkins
Hi Thanks for the reply. I did contact Fosters a few weeks back, but she said she didn't have any . How did you find out that she had year olds? Cheerio Lucy
JamesH
I just emailed her a few minutes ago as she was near you. Maybe she was going to keep them before but has changed her mind.
New2this
Hi, I don't know if this is too far for you but have you tried the Warwickshire Rare Breed Farm - http://www.warwickshirerarebreedfarm.co.uk/bantamspics.html (I just picked up some pekin/bantam chicks today from there ) Christine. lucywatkins
Thanks to those of you who replied and a big thanks to James. Yes, she has got 2 Wyandottes and she is prepared to sell them. She said that when I contacted her a while ago she didn't want to sell them as they were broody. Hopefully picking them up today or tomorrow. Hoorah!!! JamesH
Oh thats great Do have a good look at them though. Don't go thinking you have to buy them unseen or whatever. Ask some questions on what they have been fed on, worming, when they might moult etc.
lucywatkins
The 2 new Wyandottes have now been with us for a week. They are very nervous of human contact, but seem to be getting more used to us now. We had conflicting advice as to whether to introduce them slowly to our exsisting ladies, or put them all together immediately and let them get on with it. We chose the latter option, which I don't know if it was the right option or not. We have had a few `chicken issues' with a bit of pecking from the Wyandottes, but I think we have turned the corner in the last 24 hours and they seem to be getting on better. Fingers crossed for a happy hen house.

lucywatkins
No, not sure why, but doesn't seem to much `chicken stuff' going on in Bristol and I haven't yet met anyone who has an eglu around here. We are new chicken to keeping, but have quite a few friend who are experienced at it, so if you need any info etc, do get in touch, although you may be an eggspert your self!!
