lisaroo2
How can you tell if a chook is egg bound or not? today is the second day running that we've not had an egg from Rosie. She's about 6 months old, has been laying regularly up until now. She looks healthy, is eating ok and looks alright in herself. Am I being just a little bit premature in thinking there is something wrong? Maybe she is just feeling alittle off colour with all this rain? Maybe I should get some chicken tonic/citricidal to put in the water? Thanks in advance.
Egluntyne
If they are eggbound, they are very unhappy and ill looking. She's just having a day off....nothing to worry about. Are you overdoing it with the treats, or could she have laid an egg under a shrub without you knowing?
lisaroo2
Hi Eglutine Over doing it with treats? They do get treats, not every day and then a handful or so between the 3 of them. The last couple of days they've had potato peelings and strawberries.
Egluntyne
That doesn't sound like you are overdoing it. She's just having a mini break.....if she is otherwise well.
