Electricbarbarella
Since the chooks came there has been a very noisy and very annoying tom cat in my garden, spraying everywhere and picking fights with my lovely cats. Is it something to worry about, could it hurt the chooks? they are still in the run at the moment. I keep spraying it and I swa the neighbour chucking a bucket of water at it earlier. Also slightly worried that my grumpy neighbour will blame me for it's presence.
Ziggy
I would be a bit careful with the chooks, as although most cats seem to be quick at learning not to bother them, really aggressive cats probably could inflict damage (there have been some posts about cat attacks)... We too had a tom cat that used to visit the garden and terrify my cats and my kids (and me!!), but he's stayed away since our kittens have become adult cats... I would keep up the spraying and hopefully the cat will decide it's not worth hanging around, but I'd try to supervise the chooks if they're out when he's around... hopefully nothing would happen, but it's not worth the risk of letting him get to them... Egluntyne
Squirt him hard with an icy blast from a hosepipe ....it might put him off.
