So sad.....

Recommended Posts

I rang Omlet today to inquire about the girls, but have been informed they won't be mailed (yes, here in the US they are sent via the good ole US Postal Service) until the 29th July and will be ready for pickup the following day  I thought they would be here on the 16th....On a more positive note at least I have a 3 day weekend then and can spend 3 whole days getting to know them.

oh, how frustrating!

Afraid I still can't get my head around the idea of chickens coming in the mail. Someone else on here posted about the chickens being put in a box with a melon, so they had something to eat on the journey! I'm sure they are treated with a bit more care, I've just got visions of the way posties here treat parcels - slinging them in the back of the van, and then dumping them on the doorstep if you're not in. Or worse still, taking them back and putting them on a shelf in the depot ... I'm sure your chickens come Special Delivery.

I was shocked and suprised to be told they would arrive by post, but I've been assured it's done all the time here without any incidents, I was also concerned about food and water but I was told about the melon as well. I  everything goes well. And it is done with Special Handeling.
