pizza sauce, will it be okay?

Recommended Posts

I made some pizza sauce on sunday 6th july, i put the leftover sauce in an airtight tupperware pot and put it in the fridge. I meant to freeze it but forgot.

I'm making pizzas tonight and wonder if the sauce will still be okay?

It's only got chopped tomatoes, onion, tomato puree and garlic in it. It smells okay. Do you think, with it being nearly 2 weeks old, it will still be okay?

The children were horrified when they discovered that I had used a tub of frozen tomatos in their pasta sauce the other night that had been in the freezer since October 2006, they were as good as new.

I found them when I was rummaging and thought well I'm not wasting home grown stuff, that I have gone to the effort of freezing.

I find that I am much more inclined to use my eyes and nose these days to decide what should be eaten and when. I have used things that are quite out of date and have also thrown stuff out that is within date but looks and smells dodgy.
