We have recently acquired six ducklings which I estimate to be coming up for five weeks old. They have grown massively over the last two weeks and are beginning to get their feathers. Should we let them out onto our pond now or wait until they have all their feathers? Also feedwise they are having chick crumbs at the moment. At what stage should they move on to grower pellets and should I be giving them mixed grains or wheat now. Can they have lettuce, cabbage etc like the chickens do? Lesley Posted July 18, 2008 Share Posted July 18, 2008 Hello I've only raised ducklings that have been hatched by a duck so she has done all the hard work - I'm not very well up on what happens when. The best place to look for advice is the Practical Poultry forum - you'll find many more experienced duck keepers over there who will be able to answer your questions. rusky123 Posted July 22, 2008 Share Posted July 22, 2008 I have 2 nearly 2 week old ducklings, they really love their young grass or lettuce soup for breakfast. My new litttle runners will try anything .Do not want to do them harm!. It is so nice to have ducks back in our lives. We miss our Runners so much.
