I am actually looking forward to....

Recommended Posts

cleaning out the chickens this afternoon  My husband is picking up the last bale of hemcore from the place by us and we are going to do the lawn edging round the edges and hemcore inside idea.

A few questions, this will be just on mud at the moment...they have been on the grass (now mud lol) for a week now (it has been cleared during that time) and I shall clear it again before putting hemcore down. I don't have any stalosan f or anything....is this needed? Or garden lime? Would it be better if I put this down first or is it ok this time to leave it till I can get some. I guess garden lime is easy to come by?

I would just put the hemcore straight down personally. I wouldn't make a special trip to get stuff.

Garden Lime is easy to find but I made the mistake of buying it in granule form (not reading the huge 10kg tub before I got it from the garden centre). So I don't use that in the chook area in case they eat the little round balls of lime but I do still use it up in the compost bin mixed in with the chook poo. Sure you can buy it ground/powdered though.

Thanks Henwatch.

I am a little excited too as I just too the husband into the garden and we were talking about where the new shed will be and I said...well here just in front of the shed say 3m long and 2m wide would be great place for a walk in run and he said..........good idea!!!!!!!!!!!

would 3m x 2m be big enough for 3 girls? (the eglu would have to live inside too)

Thanks Jane. It will be great to see the girls in a bigger space than the eglu run :D I am sooooooo excited. I have asked him if he is able to take a day off work around the time of the bank holiday in August, I wouldn't have so long to wait then
