A moment's thoughtlessness................

Recommended Posts

Hi I feel so bad. Yesterday my husband fenced off a large chunk of garden for the hens as it was proving so hard to train Sparx to ignore them. It was lovely for a while to have the hens in their enclosure and Sparx in the garden :) So today when my daughter was out with Sparx I let the hens in the garden and intended putting them in their enclosure when Sparx came back. But he got to them first :( The vet checked Penny over and can "only" find a broken toe and thinks it might heal. I put her back in the run but she clearly doesn't want to stand. How will she feed? Will she make it? Thinking horrible things (mostly about my dog)Mad and sad :x:( Allison& Co

Oh that's sad and very unfortunate, hopefully though it's a one off incident for you and penny recovers fully.

Good luck in getting Sparky to lose interest in the hens, have you had them long?

At first Clyde my great dane paid them lots of attention and I was very worried but now they jump into his food bowl and eat his food before he does and trample over him and peck at bits of fur when he is laying down sunbathing, he just doesn't care at all.

I think I'm very lucky as a Great Dane could do Great damage.
