Patridge bantam chicken poorly foot?

Since our chickens started laying about a week and half ago they have slowly got more agressive. Its now got to the point where my son wont feed them anymore and we cant let them out due to toe pecking. Any advice?

Don't go near them in bare feet.

 

They usually become more placid when they have started laying.

 

Have they Already run out of food when you go out to feed them?

That's strange. I generally find hens become more docile when laying. Maybe you just need to be firm with them and don't give them wriggly toes to tempt them for a while.

We dont let them run out of food but I wasnt there for the worst toe pecking and with me at work, two kids to look after and all that rain its possible they had ran out of food.

Hopefully thats the case I'm getting the info second hand you see working away from home has big downfalls

Thanks for the quick replies hopefully its just a one off the occassional miss placed peck might have been blown out of proportion by hungry chickens
