Ain't Nobody Here
Maisie has been laying odd eggs for a couple of weeks - the colour's been a bit wonky (sometimes darker at the ends) and some have had white deposits on them. I can't decide if I should be giving her limestone flour or not as it looks like calcium deposits - does that mean she's getting too much . This is today's egg. Any ideas? Egluntyne
Hello **This** might explain it. I wonder if they have reacted to your return from holiday!
Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks, Egluntine, I knew you'd be out there somewhere . I also knew you'd be able to help . Hope she's not got infectious thingy or avian whatsit . I'll give them a bit of limestone flour anyway, the shells haven't been that strong recently. Hen Watch
I have 1 hen that produces speckldy bits at the bottom of her eggs. I had assumed it was excess calcium as I'm giving limestone flour for one who lays thin shells.
