Guest
What have battery hens got to do with this discussion? They weren't involved in the Innocent Village Fete as far as I know. Sheepdogs, most horses, ferrets, carrier pigeons, police dogs, to name but a few. They are all working animals. They are not treated as pets, but probably wouldn't exist if there wasn't a requirement for them as working animals. re your first comment, I know they weren't at the fete but as I said to christian, I was addressing your point about working animals. as regards your second point, my concern personally isn't so much about "working animals" in general (although you raised that subject) it's about the entertainment aspect of using animals. I don't agree with animals being used for entertainment, I think (and there's probably plenty of evidence out there) that it stresses them out. Mrs Frugal
ok, my mistake, as always. there's no need to be like that Christian. Can't we have a discussion without any histrionics? Now, now! Let's all play nicely please!! Edited August 7, 2008 by Guest
Egg Lou
How I see it is that we are all going to have different opinons considering the diversity of the members on here.. so why don't poeple that want to sign .. just sign and thoses that don't just ignore it... I for one do not want to create any bad feelings about my opinions.. nor do I want to push them on other people or vice versa.. I think this was just a case of sign if you wish.. so hopefully no one will be offended that I chose to do so. Probably time to step away from the topic?
