Angels4
I was sitting with the girls today and noticed thier nails are quite long. Will they wear down as they scratch around, or is it a good idea to clip thier nails?
Egluntyne
They will wear down naturally as the free range and scratch about. Cutting their nails can be a bit risky, as you might accidentally nick the blood vessel that runs so far down them. They bleed like crazy if you do, so best to get the vet to do it, but they probably don't need it.
Angels4
I thought that might me the case. I've always done my own cats and dogs with no bleeding, but I suspect the girls might wiggle around a bit more. I'll wait to see what happens while they scratch about and free range and if needed a trip to the vet it will be. I have decided to not clip thier wings though, my thought process is that during the winter months, the extra length of thier wing will help them to stay a bit warmer. I'll see what happens come spring.
