AMO
Just back from the vet and Hazel is fine. Her temperature is down, her heart rate has slowed(it was racing away last week)and her weight has remained the same So she is back in with the gang now full time and generally getting on with it. What a difference a week makes You're right Snowy she is a little fighter! Quick question - what is the normal weight for an egg producing hen (rather than a meat bird)? Hazel's weight is now 1700g which I thought was OK. When we first got Toyah she was feather and bone and weighed 800g - she is now about 1400g
WitchHazel
That's great news about Hazel, AMO! Can't help withthe weight question I'm afraid, my birds are all different weights (I can tell when I pick them up). I've only actually weighed my Littlees. Jasmine (Welsummer), who is 20 weeks old today, weighed 1145g last Tuesday; Milly (Cream Legbar) , who is 19 weeks old today, , weighed 954g last Tuesday. Milly has been putting on about 15% a week, hasmine was 10% a week but this has slowed slightly. Not sure if that helps.
