We're thinking of moving out eglu onto bark chips as our chickens seem to be systematically destroying our grass but unsure how this works in terms of leaving or raking up the poo? Anybody have any advise? Are the chickens just as happy on barks chips as on dirt/grass?

Yes they are. They love rootling about in it.

 

Woodchip is probably better than bark as it is less likely to harbour spoors and parasites.....and it is easier to compost.

 

You can always give them green veg such as spinach or brocolli to make up for the lack of grass.
