Faye&Ant
Hi, One of our Polands has just come out of being broody and ever since then she has been acting weird Before she just done normal chicken things but now she is really scatty and screeches anytime you go near her or try and pick her up. Before she was stupid and didnt notice you! The main concern is that when she goes to bed her crop is virtually empty and she is as thin as a rake. She has never been the biggest eater as she is normally being too nosey to worry about food! Any ideas on what this could mean or are we just worrying over nothing? Egluntyne
Maybe she needs worming. They do starve themselves when broody, so perhaps a few extras like tuna or mealworms might help her put on a bit of weight.
Faye&Ant
Thankyou, we will keep an eye on her. She has extra treats everyday and eats the pellets too and generally seems fine in herself. I think OH was worrying too much when he posted earlier. They werent due to be wormed til Oct but I think I will do it now to be on the safe side. Thanks for the advice Faye x
