4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Our hens have been with us for about 6 weeks and Harry-ette has been acting a little strange this morning!

 

What are the first signs of broodiness and what can I do to nip it in the bud if that is the problem?

Is she laying yet? If not she could be coming into lay. I doubt she's broody if there's no eggs around.

However, to answer you question the offending chook with clamp herself onto the nest, flatting her body like a pancake and growl when you go near her. Quite often you'll find loose feathers around the nest box too.
