Funny you should say that... last night after a mammoth day doing the garden I was still in shed mixing Diatom, olive oil and pellets! This was about 9pm and the chickens were all ready in bed by then anyway! Oh well, breakfast will be good....

Other way round for me.

 

I love my bed and will happily lie in until 10am when kids are on school holidays......UNTIL ...... the chooks arrived a year and a half ago. Now my alarm goes at 7.05am, dressing gown on, into back garden (hope neighbours don't spot me in state of undress), open up eglu door and put out pellet porridge.

 

Just can't go back to bed after that, and if I do, chooks are right below my window and I can hear them shuffling about. (untill I let them free range 'at 9am when they've eaten their breakfast).

Tonight I found myself on my hands and knees in the run raking it over as they have this endearing habit of digging massive holes!!!

Haven't got my girls yet, but I'm sure I'll be in the garage at night cooking up some yummy dish for them. Im have a tendency to be a bit of a wierd animal person, the kids think I'll be some strange old cat lady one day!!!
