Eggstatic!
My Miss Pepperpot has only recently started laying; she usually lays in the afternoon and not on a regular basis, this is when i usually let them free range, yesterday she laid her egg in the garden, is there anything i can do to prevent this ( other than keep them in the run)? iar fach goch
Mine free range but always manage to make it back to the nest box to lay, if she's new to laying, she might well get the hang of it with a bit of practice, knowing what the urge is and that she will need to run - very much like my potty training two year old! chucknette
Hi One of my gingernuts did this. She used to lay on the patio, lawn, in the greenhouse, under bushes and in the cube run. After a while she layed her eggs on the roosting bars and now she has reached the nest Took her a couple of weeks though but she got there Im sure yours will work it out soon as they do tend to follow each others lead. Best wishes
chelsea
My Ella lays anywhere, because she cant be bothered to go all the way back to the nestbox. just this sunday she was drinking out of the drinker by the back door and as she bent down out popped an egg she carried on drinking regardless....it didnt break either! other times she has laid on the decking and on the lawn.
