Bondinho
Hi all, Has anyone been to the DTBC recently? I'm due to go there this Sunday with my niece as we are down that way for a night or 2. Do they usually have plenty of birds to look at? Is it worth a day out to see it? Keeping it in mind that it is about an hour and a half away from where we are staying. Cheers. chelsea
im in Devon and the DTBC is fab but very popular. I got my cochins from there and they have beautiful (but expensive) birds . They dont always keep their stocklist online up to date. They do have a lot of birds but once when we visited a lot of the pens were marked "not for sale". On our last visit they had a lot more hens for sale, we bought our cochins but the owner said they could not keep up with demand and chicken sales had gone through the roof! If you want hens I would really suggest ringing them before you go for a stock update as I wouldnt want you to be disappointed. We had our cochins quite young aswell (13 weeks ) as that was the oldest they had. Take some pet carriers/hen boxes with you as their boxes are expensive. Its a lovely place though with restaurant and farm shop/gift shop, ducks, and pigs to look at I personally could easily pass a few hours there (I could watch chickens for ages and hubby has to drag me away ), I bet if you go you come home with chickens!!! http://www.dtbcentre.co.uk/
TAJ
We just popped in around 15th Aug they had practically none at that point the next 8 week olds were due after 18th Aug. I would certainly ring first, but lovely place, nice cows & pigs to, plus good gift shop and lovely cafe. Tracy
