The girls would NOT go to bed last night. I went out at 9pm (girls usually take themselves to bed at aprox. 8:30) girls were still up, again at 10pm, 11pm, and 12pm. I finally just left them to it and went to bed myself. Does anybody have a thought as to what might keep the girls out of the Eglu?

Red mite will keep them out.

I did a scrub of the entire inside of the Eglu earlier in the day. I also dusted with mite powder and DE. Could red mite be in the straw I use for bedding?

Are there any lights on outside near the run? If I put the light on in the shed near the run, they all get up and go towards it. Thinking of getting curtains for the shed as it is right near their run and I think it confuses them

Long straw can harbour red mite, I believe. Chopped straw is ok though.

Aha!! That would be the reason then. My neighbor has the most annoying spot light that goes on at all hours. I also relocated the Eglu and it is closer to my neighbor. I'll move it back tonight and see how we get on. Thanks Sandychick.
