4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

I have six wonderful girls who have laid an egg a day for a couple of months now.

 

This week I have had two days when we only had five eggs.

 

Yesterday morning there were 5 eggs in the nesting box. When I returned home from work yesterday evening (6.30pm) there were two more eggs.

 

I thought that they can only lay one egg a day or am I just being dim!

 

All explainations welcomed!!

can't explain that. i am currently getting 9 eggs from 8 chickens....maybe they like the warmer autumn weather

that's happened to me too - 3 chickens and 4 eggs. I have no explanation, sorry!

It's just a blip in their egg production cycle where another egg whizzes through the system a bit quicker (often one will have a soft or thin shell as it hasn't been in the shell gland long enough). I'm getting a few of these at the moment as well.
