GaryHas
Hi I have a problem with one of my chickens, she was laying quite nicely, untill we whent on holiday. my neighbours looked after them for two weeks, the three of them got a bad case of red spider mite which we treated as soon as we got home and after some TLC they are well on the way to recovery. Trouble is the one that was in the worst state ie badly plucked has not layed since we came home about 4-5 weeks, and appears to be straining, my first thoughts were egg bound and have given them all cod liver oil, but she is still the same, she is healthly in all other ways. has any one any idears
sandyhas3chucks
could also be a softee on the way. Someone real knowledgable will be along soon. I have noticed that it can take hours or all night to come out. I "think" put in a quiet place with a warm towel is suggested, know mine prefer the warmth! GaryHas
Thanks for the info I shall try some vitamin D and calcium, she has had the warm baths and cod liver oil in fact I give them all some on their corn once a week. Any idears how to seperate her we only have the one egloo and how to keep her on the hot water bottle, I'm not to sure about my vet when I took one to them erlier in the year I was told we don't deal or know much about chickens and that will cost you £30 Gary
